The shop

Eleven of us, and one material we know well

We coat plaster, brick and stucco with limewash and mineral paint. We do not paint drywall, trim or cabinets.

Four Lakes Lime & Mineral is two crews, an estimator and a small plaster shop on Fordem Avenue. Bessie mixes the first batch of every limewash job herself. Ante decides whether a wall needs patching, a skim coat or replastering. Most of our work starts with a wall someone coated wrong, which is why we paint the patch first.

The test patch

See it on your own wall first

We paint a square of mineral paint or limewash in a spot you pick, in the coats the wall would get. Look at it for a week, in morning light and under lamps, then decide.
